INGREDIENTS:
3 Large Beets
250 gram Fresh Blueberries
1 Small Banana
2 tbs of Black Chia Seeds
3/4 cup of Filtered Water

DIRECTIONS:

STEP 1: Put the chia seeds with filtered water in a bowl and mix well. Soak for a minimum of 40 min for the seeds to fully expand and for a gelatinous coating to form around the seeds. Stir again. It should become a nice gel-like consistency which makes the seeds very easy to swallow. If need be you can add a little more water or chia seeds to ensure your get the right thickness of the gel.

STEP 2: Rinse the beets in cold water and remove greens. Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Reduce heat (until bubbles are soft) and cook the beets for about 30-45 minutes, depending on the size of the beets. Once you take out the beets, skins should slide right off.

STEP 3: Rinse blueberries. Bring 1.5 cups of water in a small saucepan to a soft boil and cook blueberries for about 6-8 minutes so that the puree will be smoother (not necessary if your baby is older than 9 months).

STEP 4: Peel and cut the banana.

STEP 5: In your food processor or blender, add beets, blueberries, banana and chia seed gel and blend until well pureed. Add cooking water or filtered water as needed to reach desired consistency.

Why Chia seeds?
Chia seeds are high in antioxidants and have more calcium than whole milk. They are also very high in Omega-3s, magnesium, fiber, iron, potassium, and protein.

Why Beets?
Beets are an excellent source of folic acid and a very good source of manganese and potassium and is very high in antioxidants. They are credited with an impressive array of health benefits.

Why Blueberries?
Blueberries are one of the richest sources of antioxidants and contain the health-promoting phytochemical, anthocyanin. Blueberries are a good source of vitamin C, which is important for strengthening the immune system.

Why banana?
They are a storehouse of essential nutrients like potassium, pectin and B vitamins. Bananas act as a prebiotic, stimulating the growth of friendly bacteria in the bowel.

IMPORTANT:
Always check with your pediatrician before introducing your baby to a new food, particularly if your baby has food allergies.

STORING & SERVING:
Allow the puree to cool. Pour or spoon the puree into your Kiddo Feedo Freezer Tray, secure lid and freeze until solid. Once frozen transfer the cubes into ziplock bags for long-term storage, allowing the tray to be ready for a a new food to store! Defrost portions as needed in your refrigerator using an airtight container then heat the purée in a saucepan over low heat using the stove.
